Case study
Retail Finance Provider
How we supported a retail credit provider raise £40m
Jeremy started to work with this retail credit provider in the financial services sector following its move down to Cardiff in 2007 and was asked to join the business to become its part-time Finance Director.
The project initially involved restructuring and turnaround work due to level of debt in the group of companies and the subsequent international financial crisis in 2008. This period saw a lot of work with potential private equity & the banking partners in the City of London leading to the completion of an MBO backed by one of the UKs leading venture capitalists in early 2011 along with a re-banking – the overall finance package raised was in excess of £40M and Jeremy invested alongside other key directors in this deal.
Jeremy worked alongside other directors to manage the growth of business post-MBO which saw the loan book double in terms of value and volumes and this led to preparation of the business for sale with Information Memorandums provided to prospective acquirers. Jeremy managed the Due Diligence process as part of the successful acquisition by AIM Listed Bank in January 2013.
Over the 6 years with this business Jeremy managed the financial, human resources & facilities of the business and remained for 15 months post-deal to ensure a stable transition into the new group.
